For 25 years on New Year’s Eve, in front of the Bourbon St. Pub/New Orleans House complex, renowned Drag Queen, Sushi, “dropped” in a giant red high-heeled shoe. The legendary Key West drag queen is hung up the heel in 2023. So, to ring in 2024 the famous female impersonator Christopher Peterson stepped in and dropped in the show. And in 2025, the fabulous Randy Roberts from LaTeDa — dazzled with her razor-sharp wit, glamorous costumes, and a voice that transports you from the glitz of Vegas to Hollywood and the bright lights of Broadway.
To ring in 2026, the tradition will continue with a new drag superstar taking center stage in a giant red high-heeled shoe—who exactly will be perched above the crowd is still a surprise!
Street viewing of the entertainment and “drop” is free and open to the public. A limited number of tickets for a VIP balcony party overlooking the stage is offered each year; call New Orleans House Guest House at 305-293-9800 for VIP ticket availability.
