For more than 30 years now, Boston has been a hub of queer cinema with its popular Boston LGBT Film Festival, a celebration of work by and for LGBT media makers – work that entertains, enriches and enlightens all audiences in the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and allied communities.
“Boston has always been a great city for a festival like this. It not only has a vibrant gay community, but it also has a huge film community that wants to see as many different genres of cinema as they can,” James A. Nadeau, the festival’s Executive Director, said in an interview with Color Magazine. “We’ve also seen a lot of support over the years from the college crowd, both as film fans and as young members of the LGBT community who are looking to socialize and become more involved with people like them.”
