December 14
SantaCon is that wild, annual bar crawl where thousands of festively dressed revelers flood the streets of Manhattan, starting in Midtown and making their way down to the East Village. It’s a boozy blast for the party crowd; for many jaded New Yorkers, though, SantaCon is the bane of their existence thanks to the public drunkenness and chaos it brings.
These merry participants, decked out as Santa, elves, and reindeer, are encouraged to donate $15 on the event’s website, with the money going to various charitable causes. Plus, those donations score you free entry into participating venues.
According to the SantaCon map (you can grab it on the event’s app), St Nick’s crew will be jingling all over Midtown, with several stops in major NY gayborhoods like Hell’s Kitchen and Chelsea.
And really, why should straight folks have all the drunken, Santa-costumed fun?
