In celebration of Gay Pride month, Jack’d, the fastest growing gay app in the world among young gay men, conducted a comprehensive survey and today released new data declaring San Francisco, Detroit and Oakland the ‘most fun cities’ for Gay Pride. Boston, Philadelphia, Dallas and Houston ranked among the ‘least fun.’ The survey results also highlight the attitudes and opinions of Jack’d users toward Gay Pride as an institution. 80% of Jack’d users are between 18 and 30 years old.
Jack’d employed an in-app survey to poll its users, and the findings reveal that only 41% of respondents said they would attend a Pride event in 2014. Additionally, only 2% of survey respondents indicated they would use Pride in 2014 as an opportunity to come out to friends and family. A significant 17% of respondents commented that they wouldn’t attend Pride this year because they were in the closet and concerned about what others might think.
