Twenty-five years ago, Philadelphia originated National Coming Out Day, and ever since, it has held the world’s largest NCOD celebration. It returns Sunday, Oct. 11, with hours of live music, performances, food and drink.
About 10 square blocks will comprise the festival, with 12th and 13th streets shut down from Walnut to Pine streets. Locust and Spruce streets will also be closed from 11th to Broad streets. Throughout the area, more than 120 local groups and businesses will be out tabling and vending their wares, and the Gloria Casarez mural on St. James Street will be dedicated during the day.
