Palm Springs, California is a world unto itself, a famous getaway for Hollywood celebrities and world leaders, and now the home to a thriving LGBT community.
Often hailed as California’s ultimate desert playground, Palm Springs is famous around the globe for its annual White Party and The Dinah, two destination events in April that caters to the gay and lesbian communities. All year around, there is something fabulous to do in the desert, though tourism slows down during the dog days of summer when the heat hits three digits.
I’ve lived in San Diego since 2005, and yet I’ve only been to Palm Springs twice on business-related activities. So when the International Gay and Lesbian Travel Association (IGLTA) proposed to the change to get an introductory look at all that Palm Springs has to offer the LGBT traveler, I leaped at the opportunity.
