In San Francisco, every day of June is streaked with rainbows thanks to the city’s enthusiastic celebration of Pride Month.
And it’s not just the historic San Francisco Pride Parade and Celebration that brings LGBTQ communities together in the city, but the dozens of other Pride-related events that bring the celebration to new heights. This year’s S.F. Pride is themed “Generations of Strength,” a fitting name for the trials of tribulations of being a queer person in 2019, and also as a testament to the the unyielding perseverance of the community to make the world safer.
There’s so much to explore and enjoy around Pride. The city’s crawling with events, including 10 days of queer programming at Frameline 43, the longest-running LGBTQ+ film festival; dance parties of all kinds — indoor, outdoors, sober, daylong, owl-time — at venues around San Francisco; marches; art shows; drag performances; and more.
