New Hope Winery
This 18th-century barn has got it all – a kickass gift shop, an antiques store that will blow your mind, and a gourmet food shop that will leave you drooling. And that’s just the beginning! Picture this: a wine bar, a restaurant run by the incredible Larry Brown (a French Culinary Institute grad, no less). And a music/entertainment venue that hosts national artists all year round. Oh, and did I mention they have the most delicious fruit wines, rosé, and a variety of reds and whites? It’s a shame they don’t offer tours, but trust me, you won’t be bored. Swing by from Thursday to Sunday and get ready for a good time!
John & Peter’s
Live music seven nights a week has been the name of the game at this indoor-outdoor club since 1972. Odetta, Norah Jones and Mary Chapin Carpenter have all taken John & Peter’s stage, and many a customer has chased the tunes with a burger and a cold beer or two.
The Whiskey Lounge
The Whiskey Lounge at The Logan Inn is essentially a piano bar, so you know the gays can’t be far away. It’s one of New Hope’s coziest spots. It’s seriously one of the coziest spots in New Hope. Picture a wood-burning fireplace, a bar stocked with top-notch spirits, and lounge music to set the mood.
Playhouse Deck
Get ready for a seriously modern and chill spot by the Delaware River, attached to and behind the legendary Bucks County Playhouse. They’re hosting a monthly High Tea Dance for the LGBTQ+ community. Picture exceptional cocktails, dancing, live DJ, cute bartenders, and more. It’s like bringing a P-Town tradition right to the banks of the Delaware every single month!
The Cub Room
Step into The Cub Room, a bar with decor inspired by the 1950 American drama film “All About Eve.” Nestled within the New Hope Lodge (formerly known as Motel in the Woods), this gem stands as the last official gay bar in a town that once boasted four vibrant LGBTQ+ spots — The Raven, The Prelude, and The Cartwheel. Oh, how times have changed!
Karla’s Bar & Restaurant
Offering European cuisine, Karla’s has beautiful open air seating and a European flair. However, most go here for their bar. Make sure to try a Basil Lemon Old-Fashioned and other innovative cocktails.
Bowman’s Tavern
A tavern room and attached lounge bar lets you mingle with locals and enjoy some live (mostly piano) entertainment. Go for happy hour and you might stay all night.
